The prep behind the scenes
When people think about the Tour, they picture mountain stages, sprint finishes and podium celebrations. What they don't see is everything happening inside the team service course.
Before the race even begins, hundreds of chains are prepared for training bikes, race bikes, spare bikes and time trial bikes.
Working alongside the Lidl-Trek mechanics, we help ensure every rider starts the Tour with perfectly prepared hot-waxed chains. Because when riders spend more than 80 hours racing over three weeks, every detail matters.
“After one test ride, I never want to go back to oil. Hot wax is so clean, so fast. I loved it."
It all started with Mads Pedersen
This year's Tour was another unforgettable one for Lidl-Trek. Watching Mads Pedersen win the green jersey was incredibly special for everyone involved.
For us, it was also a reminder of where our partnership began. Three years ago, Mads became the first Lidl-Trek rider to try Cyclowax during training.
After just a few rides, he wanted to switch. Not because someone told him to. Because he felt the difference.
Today, hot waxing has become a normal part of life inside one of the world's best cycling teams. Seeing that journey unfold has been something we're incredibly proud to be part of.
It's all about the details at the Tour
One of our favourite parts of visiting the Tour every year is catching up with the mechanics. They're some of the most detail-oriented people in professional sport.
Every bike is checked.
Every bolt is torqued.
Every chain is inspected.
There's a reason WorldTour mechanics are obsessed with consistency. Their job is making sure riders never have to think about their equipment. If the mechanics have done their job perfectly, nobody notices. And that's exactly how they like it.
Every year we bring a Cyclowax customer to the Tour
Every year, we take someone with us to the Tour. It isn't an investor. It isn't a journalist. It isn't a business partner. It's a Cyclowax customer. Why?
Because our community is the reason Cyclowax exists. Every year, one rider from the Clean Chain Club gets to experience the Tour from the inside. Walking through the team area. Meeting the riders. Talking with the mechanics. Seeing everything that happens behind the scenes before the cameras start rolling.
Those are experiences you never forget. And honestly, watching someone's reaction when they realise how much work goes into every single race is one of our favourite parts of the week.
More than a partnership
Working with Lidl-Trek has never just been about supplying hot wax. It's about learning. Every conversation with the mechanics helps us improve our products. Every race teaches us something new. Every season pushes us to keep innovating.
The feedback we receive from one of the world's best cycling teams eventually finds its way into products used by thousands of cyclists around the world. That's something we're incredibly proud of.
