This was Velofollies 2025

Three days of non-stop conversations with passionate cyclists, testing out clean chains, and answering all your burning questions about hot wax. Here’s what we learned from talking to hundreds of riders at our booth.

News

1. Seeing (and Touching) is Believing

We brought a dirty bike to our booth. Why? Because we wanted people to see the difference. A mud-streaked bike with a hot-waxed, crispy clean chain stood front and center. The reaction? 🤯

Cyclists ran their fingers over the chain and were amazed— zero grease, zero grime, just pure efficiency. That’s the magic of hot wax. It’s one thing to hear about it, but feeling it firsthand made the “Always a Clean Chain” promise click instantly.

2. Liquid Wax vs. Hot Wax: The Big Question

A lot of riders have already switched from oil to liquid wax —which is great! It’s definitely cleaner than oil, but here’s the thing: it’s still liquid. Liquid wax is less sticky than oil, but it still attracts dirt and dust. Hot wax, on the other hand, is completely dry. That means dirt and grime don’t stick to your chain at all, keeping it cleaner for longer. This was one of the biggest discussion points at Velofollies, and we were happy to break it down for so many cyclists who were already halfway to making the switch to hot wax.

3. A Packed House at Our Panel Discussion

One of the highlights of the weekend? Our panel discussion with Ine Beyen, Greg Van Avermaet, Cyclowax founder Jakob Lorré, and Thomas De Gendt. The main stage at Velofollies was packed as we talked all things drivetrain efficiency, hot wax, and performance.

Some takeaways from the pros?

✔️ Greg Van Avermaet: “It just feels better to ride with a clean chain.”
✔️ Thomas De Gendt: “If you care about performance, you care about your chain.”
✔️ Jakob Lorré: “Hot wax is the new standard, and more and more cyclists are realizing it.”

See you next year.

Velofollies was a blast. Talking to cyclists, answering questions, and seeing the reactions to a clean, hot-waxed chain reminded us why we do this.

Missed us at Velofollies? No worries. We'll definitely be back next year.
